DHAKA: Department of Immigration and Passports has instructed applicants over the age of 18 to submit National Identity (NID) card to get new passports.
The directive was, signed by Assistant Director of the Department (Passport) Md. Shahjahan Kabir, issued in this regard.
Up to age 18, application submission is subject to reception of online birth certificate.
For children under the age of 15, parents are instructed to submit NID along with application.
Apart from this, the department said that a Verified copy of NID will be submitted if applicable.
The order will be implemented immediately, the directive said.
