FROM PADMA BANK: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said the construction of the Padma Multipurpose Bridge was a big challenge for us.

She made this comment while addressing a civic rally on the occasion of inaugurating river management program at Zajira point of Shariatpur district on Saturday (December 12).

At the rally, PM Hasina said the World Bank withdrew itself from the project raising a baseless allegation of bribe-taking conspiracy.

She went on saying, “We asked them to provide specific information, but several years elapsed none provided anything in this regard”.

However, the premier expressed her gratitude to people who sacrificed their homestead for Padma bridge construction.

She sought cooperation from all for Padma Bridge construction. The bridge will play pivotal role not only in country’s development but also in regional development.
