TANGAIL: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested four persons with pistols and bullets in drives conducted in Beguntal village in sadar upazila of Tangail district on Sunday.

The arrestees included Purba Bangla Communist Party ML regional leader Afzal Hossain, son of Abdul Karim and his associates Mohammad Abul Hossain, son of Faez Uddin; Mohammad Abdur Rahman, son of Mohammad Ali Hossain and Mohammad Abdur Rahim of the same village.

Law enforcers also seized two foreign made 7.65 pistols, five rounds of bullets, two magazine and some pieces of local weapons from Afzal.

Taigail RAB-12 company commander Mohammad Mahiuddin Faruki told banglanews that on tips-off they conducted drives and arrested the criminals.

Several cases, including of murders and kidnaps, were filed against the arrestees, he added.
