SATKHIRA: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-6) personnel held four robbers including the ringleader Zia along with 13 firearms and seven bullets from Sundarbans’ Kateshwar area of the district on Thursday.

The detainees are identified as -- gang leader Zia, his second-in-command Masum and two other members Alauddin and Shimul.

RAB sources said that acting on a tip-off, the law enforcers conducted a special drive and held some robbers of Zia gang while they were holding a meeting at their den in the deep forest, in the area around 5:30pm.

RAB personnel also recovered a shooter gun, 9 pipe-guns, 3 LG guns and seven-round bullets from their possession.

Later, a good number of ammunitions were unearthed according to the information of the robbers, RAB sources added.

RAB-6 Satkhira Camp Commander Assistant Police Superintendent (ASP) Mizanur Rahman confirmed the matter to banglanews.
