Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today predicted light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over the eight divisions across the country.
"Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Dhaka, Rajshahi, Rangpur, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions with heavy to very heavy falls at places over the country", said the met office forecast for next 24 hours commencing from 9am.
Day temperature may fall slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
Country's maximum temperature on Tuesday was recorded by 34.4 degree celsius at Cumilla and minimu temperature recorded by24.4 degree celsius at Nikli. The highest rainfall for the last twenty-four hours till 6 am today was recorded by 74 millimeters (mm) at Khepupara.
The low pressure area over Northwest Bay & adjoining area persists. The axis of monsoon trough runs through Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal, center of the low to Assam across southern part of Bangladesh. Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate elsewhere over North Bay.
