The High Court today (June 5) granted bail to JKG health care chairman Dr Sabrina Sharmin Hossain in a case filed over distributing fraud Covid-19 test. 

An HC bench comprises of Justice SM Kuddus and Justice Shahed Noor-Uddin passed the order.

Defense lawyer Masudul Haque confirmed the matter.

He said the High Court has granted bail in this case until hearing the petition filed against the lower court verdict. 

With this order, there is no bar for Dr Sabrina to come out of jail, he said. 

On July 19 last year, Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Tofazzal Hossain sentenced eight people including Sabrina Sharmin and CEO Ariful Chowdhury to 11 years in three separate charges.
