A fire broke out in an eight storey building in Adabar area of Mohammadpur in the capital on Sunday (May 28).

The fire started around 12pm in the basement of the building. 

Media Officer Anwarul Islam from the Fire Service Headquarters confirmed the matter.

Five units of the fire service rushed to the spot to control the fire, he said.

The reason behind the fire could not be known immediately.
