Two passengers of a microbus were killed and three others injured after a truck hit the vehicle truck in Daudkandi upazila of Cumilla on Sunday (May 28).

The accident took place around 8am in Shahidnagar area on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway.

The deceased identified as Abdus Sattar, 62, hailed from Bhabanipur village of Daudkandi upazila and Abdul Jalil, 65, from Ketandi village of the same upazila.

Daudkandi Highway Police Station OC Jahangir Alam confirmed the matter.

He said a truck hit a microbus on the Dhaka-bound road on the south side of MA Jolil High School, leaving two passengers of the microbus dead and some others injured.

The injured were taken to hospital, he also said.

The truck and microbus were seized, the OC said, adding the bodies were being handed over to the families.
