Two people of a family were killed and five others injured as a bus hit CNG-run auto rickshaw in Daudkandi upazila of Cumilla district on Friday (May 26).

The deceased were identified as Al Amin, 36, his elder sister Saleha Begum, 46, residents of Daudkandi upazila.

The injured were identified as Md. Nazmul, 25, his wife Rina Akhter, 22, and daughter Nusrat, 3, auto rickshaw driver Shanto, 20, and passenger Roksana, 30.

According to police and locals, a Dhaka-bound bus hit the CNG-run autorickshaw.

Daudkandi Model Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Sudarshan Pal confirmed the matter.

Police seized the bus, however, driver and helper of the bus managed to flee the spot, he added.
