Prothom Alo reporter Samsuzzaman Shams, who was arrested in a case filed under the Digital Security Act (DSA), was shifted to Kashimpur Central Jail-1 from Dhaka Central Jail in Keraniganj on Friday (March 31). 

Shahjahan Ahmed, senior jail super of Kashimpur Central Jail-1 confirmed the matter.

He was landed in Kashimpur Jail around 1:30pm today, Shahjahan added. 

Earlier on March 31, Shams was produced before a Dhaka court that sent him to jail in the DSA case filed with Ramna Police Station.

Besides, editor of the leading daily Prothom Alo, Matiur Rahman, was sued alongside other staff members under the DSA.

Police arrested Shams from Savar on the outskirts of the capital early on March 29 following a news report published in the daily that allegedly tarnished the image of the government.
