Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 255 people in the last 24 hours that ended this evening (Dec 5) during their ongoing special drive in the capital.
DMP Media Center's Deputy Commissioner Faruk Hossain confirmed the matter on Monday (Dec 5).
He said the 15-day drive that started on December 1, is being carried out to ensure safe and undisturbed celebrations of Victory Day, Christmas, and New Year's Eve.
In the past 24 hours as well, Dhaka Metropolitan Police arrested 255 people.
Since December 1, DMP has arrested a total of 727 people so far, he said, adding that many of them are warranted convicts.
