State Minister for Electricity, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid said the country will experience no power crisis from next year.
He said: “Standard and uninterrupted electricity will be provided in the country in the coming years”.
The state minister made the remarks while addressing a seminar at a city hotel on Sunday (Nov 4) as the chief guest.
Northern Electricity Supply Company (NESCO) organised the seminar titled "NESCO Towards 2041: Challenge and Way Forward" this noon.
Nasrul Hamid said as electricity has reached every village of the country, demand for it increased. So, today's event is to discuss what challenges NESCO is planning to face in the future to meet that demand, he added.
"It would have been better if NESCO had worked on the issues of renewable energy," said Nasrul Hamid.
The Prime Minister has already taken a strict stance against setting up unplanned industrial plants everywhere, he said.
Besides, you (NESCO) can put emphasis on clean energy and have a plan in this regard, the minister suggested.
