The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has given permission to the BNP to hold its December 10 rally at the capital's Suhrawardy Udyan on 26 conditions.
The conditions include: no gathering outside the venue; supporters can go to the venue a maximum of two hours before the rally starts; no sticks and rods can be carried by supporters; no anti-state statements or activities; no processions to join the rally; no inciteful speech or leaflets; organisers will be held responsible in case of deterioration of law and order situation.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Media and Public Relations Department of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Farooq Hossain confirmed the matter to Banglanews.
The DMP communicated these conditions in a letter addressed to BNP's Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi.
BNP intended to hold the rally in front of its Naya Paltan office.
Farooq Hossain said as the mass gathering in front of the BNP central office at Naya Paltan will cause traffic jam and public suffering, permission has been given BNP to hold the Dhaka divisional mass rally on December 10 from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Suhrawardy Udyan in Shahbag.
