Police arrested a drug peddler along with 8 kg of hemp in Sakhipur of Shariatpur on Sunday (November 27).

The arrestee was identified as Hajrat Ali Molla, 40, son of late Hossain Molla at Raghunathpur village of Titas upazila in Comilla district.

However, he was arrested from East Balakandi Kheya Ghat of Charcensus Union of Sakhipur Police Station.

Sakhipur Police Station OC Asaduzzaman Howladar confirmed the matter.

He said a case was lodged under the Narcotics Control Act against Ali and he was sent to court today afternoon.
