Detective (DB) police arrested a person along with fake notes from Nathullabad of Barisal City.

The arrestee was identified as Nazrul Islam Bablu, 43, son of late Abdul Mannan Howladar of Rajapur upazila of Jhalkathi district.

Barisal Metropolitan Police Media Cell confirmed the matter on Sunday (Nov 27) afternoon.

Earlier, around 1:15am, a special team of Barisal Metropolitan Police's intelligence wing conducted the drive based on tip-off and arrested him.

Meanwhile, 60,000 (60 notes of 1,000 taka) fake Bangladeshi taka was recovered from him.

Sub-Inspector (SI) Media Cell Tanzil Ahmed said legal action is underway with the city's airport police station against him.
