A special tribunal today (Nov 22) adjourned till January 16, 2023, the hearing on charge framing in blogger Nazimuddin Samad murder case.
Judge Md Mujibur Rahman of Dhaka Anti-Terrorism Special Tribunal passed the order as three accused in the case are currently on remand in a case lodged over escape of two death-row militants from police custody.
Public prosecutor Golam Sarwar Zakir said three accused- Mozammel Hossain, Sheikh Abdullah Zubayer and Arafat Rahman Siam are on ten-day remand in the militants escape case.
The tribunal on January 17, 2022, accepted charge-sheet against 11 including sacked army major Zia, alleged military wing chief of banned militant outfit Ansar-al Islam. The court on that day had issued arrest warrant against five fugitive accused.
Nazimuddin, a student of Jagannath University, was hacked and shot to death by the militants on April 6, 2016, at Lakkhibazar area in the old part of the capital.
