Three people were killed and ten others injured in a collision between two passenger buses and a pick-up van on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Raipura upazila of Narsingdi early Tuesday (Nov 15).

The deceased were identified as Sananda Das, 55 and Md Renu Miah, 66, and Kamal, 35.

Md Mozammel Haque, officer-in-charge of Bhairab Highway Police Station, confirmed the matter.

He said a Kishoreganj-bound bus hit a parked BRTC bus in Nilkuthi area around 4:45am. At the same time, a fish-laden pick-up going from Brahmanbaria to Narsingdi's Itakhola hit the two buses after its driver lost control of the vehicle, leaving Sananda and Renu dead on the spot and ten others injured, he added.

Mentioning that Kamal died on the way to Dhaka, the OC said, adding that the injured were undergoing treatment at a local hospital.
