Four people, including a woman and a child, were killed and 10 others injured as a bus hit a roadside tree at Bhanga upazila in Faridpur district early Sunday (Nov 6).

The deceased were identified as Merina Akter, 32, Junaid, 3, Humayun Kabir, 48, and Abdur Rauf Hawlader, 50.

The accident took place around 3:00 am in Madhabpur area, Bhanga Highway Police Station officer in-charge Taimur Islam told Banglanews.

He said a bus of Sakura Paribahan hit a roadside tree in Madhabpur area as its driver lost control over the steering, leaving two dead on the spot and 12 others injured.

The injured were rescued and taken to Bhanga Upazila Health Complex where two more succumbed to their injuries, he also said.

Legal steps in this regard are being takin in this connection, the OC added.
