Two lanes of Dhaka Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) flyover between Tongi Station Road and the Housebuilding area opened to traffic on Sunday (Nov 6).

Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader inaugurated the lanes at a programme over the flyover near Tongi Bridge.

People will be able to travel comfortably following the opening of the two lanes, Obaidul Quader said. 

By the first week of June next year, the BRT Line-3 project would be completed and opened to the public, he added.

The full length of the flyover is 4.5km. A part of the BRT flyover is a 2.2km stretch between Tongi Station Road and Housebuilding.
