Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-3 arrested two drug peddlers with 49 kg of hemp from Sonargaon area of Narayanganj district.

The arrestees were identified as Md. Mamun Molla, 30 and Sohag Ahmed 25.

Two mobile phones, 2 SIM cards, Tk 800 in cash and 1 private car used for transporting drugs were recovered from them.

RAB-3 captain Lt. Col. Arif Mohiuddin Ahmed confirmed the matter to Banglanews on Friday (Nov 4) afternoon.

He said that on Thursday, several raids were conducted in the area under Sonargaon police station of Narayanganj district. Later, Mamun and Sohag were arrested along with 49 kg of hemp. They used to collect illegal drugs and sell and supply them in Narayanganj and different areas of the capital.

A case under the Narcotics Control Act has been lodged with Sonargaon police station against the accused, the RAB official added.
