DHAKA: Health Minister Zahid Maleque on Thursday (March 19) said the government might impose a lockdown on Madaripur and Faridpur districts, if necessary, to contain the further spread of coronavirus in the country.
He said: “Faridpur, Madaripur and its Shibchar upazila are the most vulnerable areas at present as most of the Bangladesh expatriates, who returned home from severely coronavirus-affected countries, are of these areas.”
The minister came up with the remarks while addressing a media briefing at the secretariat in the capital this afternoon.
The areas are under observation and we will lock down the areas if necessary,” Zahid Maleque.
