DHAKA: Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said cooperation was sought from Facebook authority in Singapore to identify the culprits behind the incident in Bhola.

“Already, contact has been made with the officials. Investigation is underway. Details will be gathered in one or two days. Then punitive actions against them will be taken,” he told journalists at his ministry office on Monday (October 21).

The minister said law enforcement agencies had already filed case and arrested Facebook user and the alleged hacker to this end. Snippets of conversation between them were sent to Facebook authority in Singapore for further investigation. We sought detailed description on it from them. Who hacked whose ID… from where.. where the post was uploaded from..everything will be investigated. Punishment will be given in proportion to the crime.

The minister also urged the countrymen to have patience.

Four persons were killed, nine bullet-hit and at least fifty others injured in a number of clashes between police and locals in Borhanuddin upazila of the district on Sunday (October 20).

Biplab, a youth from Kachia union of the upazila, uploaded a post on Facebook, resulting in backlash against it from the entire upazila. Police detained the youth along with another person on Saturday.
