2 women found dead in Meherpur

MEHERPUR: Two women were found dead Sadar upazila and Gangni upazilas of Meherpur on Thursday (Oct 10) morning. 

The deceased were identified as Tahura Begum, divorced daughter of Abdul Wahab, Gopalpur village of Sadar upazila and Parvina Khatun, 45, sister-in-law of Kazipur union chairman Rahatullah.

Obaidur Rahman, officer in charge of Gangni upazila, told Banglanews that mentally challenged Parvina was found hanging from ceiling of one Taibul Islam’s shop in the morning. On the other hand, locals found Tahura dead at Harbanga village in Gangni upazila. 

Being informed from locals, police recovered the bodies of Tahura Begum and Parvin Khatun around 8:00am. 

The bodies were sent to Mehepur General Hospital morgue for autopsy. Legal action would be taken once complaints received, he added.
