DHAKA: The wife of Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Director Mohammad Yousuf, also known as Bansuri M Yousuf, succumbed to burn injuries Thursday (September 12).
Uttara East Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Nure Alam Siddiqui told Banglanews that the ACC director's wife sustained burn injuries at their Uttara residence around 7pm Wednesday (September 11).
Tania was admitted to Combined Military Hospital (CMH, Dhaka) where she died in the morning.
Fire marks were spotted on the second floor of house-1 in road no.4 of Uttara sector-4. The fire was doused before firefighters reached there, leaving a woman burnt, said then on-duty Fire Service Control room official Mahfuz Riben.
Why the ACC director's wife sustained burns is being investigated, said the OC.
However, Bansuri M Yousuf rose to popularity in social media for his role against irregularities when he served as the executive magistrate in Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
