Probe bodies seek 15 days of time extension

KHULNA: Two probe bodies sought 15 days of time extension to submit investigation report on gang rape of a woman in Khulna GRP (railway) Police Station by five policemen on August 2.

The deadline of investigation report was on Tuesday (August 12), Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) of Kushtia circle Firoz Ahmed, told Banglanews.

ASP Firoz Ahmed was the head of a three-member probe body formed by Pakshi Railway police.The other members of the probe body are GIO-1 of Kushtia Inspector SM Kamal Hossain and Darshana railway immigration camp Inspector Md Baharul Islam. 

Assistant Superintend of Police (ASP) Sehela Parvin led the 4-member committee formed by Police Headquarters.

The two probe bodies interrogated the woman On Thursday (August 8).

The victim woman filed a case with GRP (railway) Police Station on Saturday (August 10).

As per the directive of a Khulna court, the case was filed against five policemen including the OC. 

A woman came to Khulna from Jashore by a train on the night of August 2. She was taken to Khulna Railway Station on charge of mobile theft. Deep at night, Osman Gani Pathan raped her. Later, four other policemen raped her in turns.

Next day, they produced her before the court on charge of having three bottles of phensidyles. The woman disclosed everything happened to her at the night. Judicial magistrate ordered medical test of the incident.
