NILPHAMARI: The Teesta River is overflowing at some points of Nilphamari due to continuous rainfall and flow of water coming from the hills.
Teesta is flowing below 10 centimeters of the danger level at Teesta Barrage point in Daliya under Dimla upazila of Nilphamari till Wednesday morning (July 10).
However, no flooding was reported in anywhere of the district, said locals and district administration.
Locals said rain was pouring down since Monday morning (July 8). With the uprising of water, Teesta River started to swell. People living in char areas are bracing themselves for flood.
Abdul Latif Khan, chairman of East Chhatni Union Parishad of Dimla upazila, said Teesta water started to increase from Monday night. But, no areas have been flooded yet.
