DHAKA: Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal is set to place the national budget for the Fiscal Year 2019-20 (FY20) Thursday (June 13).
This will be the country’s 48th budget and the 11th of the Awami League government in a row and maiden budget of current term of the AL government.
Mustafa Kamal will be placing Tk 5 lakh 23 thousand 190 crore budget at the Jatiya Sangsad at 3:00pm. It will be his first budget placement.
The minister has already hinted that the size of the budget will be over Tk 5.23 lakh crore.
Of the Tk 5.23 lakh crore, the authorities will chase Tk 3.78 lakh crore coming from the National Revenue Board (NBR), non-NBR and non-tax revenue, up by Tk 38,530 crore from the original budget size of the outgoing fiscal.
Some Tk 3.26 lakh crore will come from the NBR and the rest from the non-NBR and non-tax sources.
Later, the new budget has to be passed by June 30 and will be implemented from July 1.
