DHAKA: A public bus hit the car carrying Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal in College Gate area of Dhaka’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Friday (August 10) night.

The minister, however, was unharmed.

Police seized the bus and nabbed its driver Ibrahim Khalil Emon, 22, and helper Manik.

Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station Duty-Officer Sub-Inspector (SI) Yeadul Haque confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

A bus of New Vision Paribahan (Dhaka Metro B-11-7475) hit the car from behind while the home minister was leaving the area after visiting a patient at the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD), around 9pm, said police sources.

Preparations are underway to lodge a case over the incident, SI Yeadul Haque added.
