ICT releases probe report against 5 Jashore men

DHAKA: The investigation agency of International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) published the final probe report of five persons from Jashore in connection with committing crimes against humanity in the Liberation War of 1971.

The report was presented at a press briefing at the investigation agency office of ICT in Dhanmondi Monday (April 16). 

Chief coordinator of the agency Abdul Hannan Khan, senior coordinator Sanaul Haque and investigation officer of the case Abdur Razzaq Khan were present at the briefing.

The report will be submitted to tribunal prosecution Tuesday (April 17).

Four types of charges including murder, detention and torture have been brought against the accused, said Abdul Hannan Khan.

Of the accused, Md Amjad Hossain Molla, 77, is involved with the politics of Awami League. He has been arrested, said the report.

Four other accused are absconding.

To protect privacy for sake of arrest, identities of the four accused aren’t being disclosed, added Hannan.

However, the investigation began on April 4, 2016 and ended on April 16, 2018.
