BRAHMANBARIA: Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda on Thursday (March 8) said no new endeavors will be initiated for convincing the political parties to participate in the upcoming national parliamentary polls.

“We are working to attain trust from all the political parties apart from the voters.”

“But initiative won’t be taken anymore for participation of all in the next election. Because, talks were held with the parties’ leaders during the dialogue”, he said.

The CEC was talking to the reporters after attending a meeting at the office of Brahmanbaria Deputy Commissioner (DC) at noon.

“EC hopes that Khaleda Zia will participate in the election after ending all the troubles related to her case”, he added regarding the BNP chief’s participation in the polls.

However, the meeting was arranged to discuss law and order situation, presided over by Brahmanbaria DC Rezwanur Rahman.
