ASHULIA (SAVAR): A bus driver was killed while the supervisor and helper were injured as a robber gong attacked the bus on Nabinagar-Chandra Highway in Sreepur area of Savar’s Ashulia early Tuesday (Tuesday 13).

The deceased was identified as Shahjahan, a resident of Chargana village under Tangail sadar district.

Ashulia Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Faruq Hossain told Banglanews that some 13 members of a robber gang, in disguise of passengers, boarded the bus of ‘Dhaleswari Paribahan’ of Dhaka-Tangail route at Abdullahpur and Baipail areas at the night.

The robbers slashed the driver and the helper with knife after tying them to the seats after being denied for key of the bus. They used weapons to take the passengers hostage and fled away after looting valuables.

On information, police rescued the bus from Bolibordro Bazar in Ashulia afterwards.
