Butcher missing in Buriganga trawler capsize

NARAYANGANJ: A man went missing as a trawler capsized after being hit by a launch in Buriganga River under Fatullah area of Narayanganj early Friday (January 12).

He was identified as Dudu Mia, a butcher in profession, from North Narsinghpur area of Fatullah.

Witnesses said that the Boktaboli-ghat bound trawler, carrying 11 passengers from Fatullah, sank in the middle of the river as a launch hit it at around 6am.

All of the passengers excluding Dudu managed to swim to the shore.

Narayanganj Fire Service Station Deputy Managing Director (DMD) Mamun said that search & rescue efforts are going on, to trace Dudu.
