DHAKA: Broad gauge versions of Ekota Express and Drutojan have been inaugurated on Dhaka-Dinajpur route.
Bangladesh Railway minister Mazibul Hoque inaugurated the train services at Kamalapur railway station in Dhaka Thursday morning (December 15).
Railway director general Amjad Hossain, joint secretary of the ministry Firoz Salahuddin and railway ministry affairs standing committee member Sirajul Islam Molla were, among others, present here.
As per schedule, Ekota Express will leave Dhaka at 10:00 am for Dinajpur everyday while Drutojan Express will leave Dhaka at 8:00 pm.
On the other hand, Ekota Express will leave Dinajpur at 7:40 am for Dhaka and Drutojan at 10:00 pm.
Earlier, these two trains were narrow gauge.
