Dengue fever which is spread by the bite of an Aedes mosquito has rapidly spread in all regions of WHO in recent years.

The dengue hemorrhagic fever is widely known as 'break bone fever' as it accompanies with severe joint pains which makes the condition even worse.

No specific diet is necessary for patients with dengue fever. Patients who are able to tolerate oral fluids should drink oral rehydration solution with fruit juice, or water.

With increasing dengue casualties in recent times, it is very important to take effective preventive measures for the same.

However, if you still get tested positive with dengue, these few foods will help you recover from this disease at the earliest.

Coconut water

It is recommended to drink two glasses of coconut water daily, as it replenishes all the minerals and electrolytes, lost by the body due to dehydration.

Papaya leaves

For those who are suffering from dengue, papaya leaves are the best food for dengue patients. All we need to do is, take two fresh papaya leaves, crush and squeeze them to extract the juice. It is suggested to consume two tablespoons of this juice every day either in the morning or at night.

Orange juice

It has been proven that citrus fruits are good for dengue patients. The orange juice is packed with energy and vitamins that is good for digestion, increases the urinary output, and thus promotes faster recovery.

Broccoli is an excellent source of Vitamin K which helps to regenerate blood platelets.
