Two dengue patients died and 344 people were hospitalised with the mosquito-borne disease across the country in the last 24 hours Wednesday (Oct 5), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In the 24 hours, 270 new dengue patients were admitted to different hospitals in Dhaka, said the DGHS release.

However, 74 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital.

According to DGHS, 1,601 patients are undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 555 other patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Some 18,646 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue till today while 16,427 patients returned home after recovery since January 1.

However, this year a total 63 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.

However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered in last year. A total of 105 died from the mosquito-borne disease during that time.
