Not possible to hold HSC exams right now: Dipu Moni

DHAKA: Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni has said it is not possible to hold Higher Secondary Examination (HSC) and equivalent examinations at this moment due to coronavirus (Covid-19) situation.

The education minister gave the information on Sunday in response to a question of a journalist regarding the issue.

Dr Dipu Moni said, “We took all preparations to hold HSC exams. Due to coronavirus situation, the examinations are not being taken place. Apart from that, public transports will have to start for holding the examinations as there is huge number of HSC candidates. Even, it will be tough to maintain distancing. There will be risk even if the number of examination centres increases.”

“Unless the situation comes under control, the HSC and equivalent examination cannot take place in the country. When such a situation will arise, we will hold the examination giving two weeks’ prior notice,” the minister added.
