Gold business sees significant development in just 6 months

The reception ceremony for new members of the Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) has ended in Narayanganj on Monday (May 23). 

According to the participants, within just six months, the gold business in Narayanganj experienced a significant development that did not happen in the last 26 years.

It has been possible for the dynamic leadership of BAJUS President Sayem Sobhan Anvir, they said, adding that his business insight, creativity and prudence would further enrich Bangladesh’s jewellery industry.

Chief Guest MA Wadud Khan said, “You will take the gold through the memo and keep the NID. In case of police harassment, we will extend support. You do business honestly. Sayem Sobhan Anvir is beside you. If any customer buys ornaments from non-member outlet, he/she may be deceived.”

Dr Dilip Kumar Roy, former BAJUS president and chairman of District Monitoring Standing Committee said, “There are some unscrupulous traders who sell at a lower price than set by the BAJUS. Poor quality products are available at low prices. We want to maintain standard of the products. Sayem Sobhan Anvir is a symbol of unity. He does not want any division.”

In Narayanganj there must be an elected committee. I have discussed with the President, that we want to conduct a fair election. said, Dr Roy.

Guests and businessmen who attended the event stated that in the coming days, no one will be able to lawfully trade gold without registering with BAJUS. We will change the history of the jewellery industry by working together.

Former President and Chairman of Bajus Enamul Haque Khan, Senior Vice President and Chairman Gulzar Ahmed, Assistant Secretary and Vice Chairman Masudur Rahman, Executive Member and Member Secretary Md. Ripnul Hasan.

General Secretary of Narayanganj District Jewelery Association Hanif Uddin Selim, gold traders Monir Hasan Khan, Faruk Ahmed, Amir Hossain Khan, Abhijit Roy, Golam Mohammad Khoka, Liton Khandaker, Nazrul Islam Roman and Asaduzzaman among others were present in the.

At the end of the program, Ruhul Amin Russell, Business Editor of Bangladesh Pratidin, received a memorandum of honor on behalf of the President of BAJUS.
