Janata Bank launches AI-powered mobile app

Janata Bank has launched an artificial intelligence-based mobile app - eJanata to keep the customers ahead in race of advanced-level of digital financial service.

The eJanata has been downloaded over 50 thousand times from Google play store since launching on 15 February while the customers transacted around Tk 220 million so far, said a press release of Janata Bank on Saturday.

Regarding the mobile apps, Janata Bank managing director Abdus Salam Azad said the state-run lender has been working relentlessly to make banking services faster and safer.

“Following Smart Bangladesh vision of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, we are working to provide smart banking service to build a prosperous nation. The eJanata mobile app is an initiative to reach the banking services to customers on finger tips,” Azad, also a valiant freedom fighter, said.

The chief executive mentioned that Janata Bank has been working for the economic development of the country and the people over the decades giving priority to customers.

To register with the platform, customers have to provide 13-digit account number, national identity number, registered mobile number, email address and related information on ‘sign-up’ option of the apps.

The AI-powered app recognises the face of users with national identity server. The users will get access to the next level of registration after face recognition. 

The eJanata apps enable users to transact fund with any commercial banks of the country. Users can pay bills for installment of savings or credit card through the apps.

The officials informed that the eJanata apps will get more benefits soon including ‘add money’ from bKash and, cash withdrawal and payment by quick response (QR) code.
