DHAKA: Kevin Steele, Managing Director (MD) of the national carrier Biman Bangladesh Airlines, resigned from his position showing reasons related to health.
Kevin confirmed the matter to banglanews on Sunday afternoon though he did not mention the date of enactment of his resignation letter.
Kevin was suffering from tuberculosis but he concealed the matter while applying as MD of Biman.
A few members of the Medical Board of Biman, including the chairman Jamal Uddin Ahmed, knew the matter.
Kevin also told banglanews: “I had to resign for tuberculosis. I have been suffering from the disease for a long time. I also had stroke.”
He added: “Doctors told to take rest but the job pressure at Biman did not give me the time. This is why I have taken the decision.”
On March 18, 2013, Kevin Steele joined as an MD in the national carrier.
