DHAKA UNIVERSITY: The voting in Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (Ducsu) elections ended except in two halls.

Students cast ballots in the polling centers installed at the varsity halls from 8am to 2pm Monday (Mar 11).

The balloting at Kuwait Maitree Hall and Rokeya Hall was halted amid allegations of irregularities, and therefore will continue till 5pm.

As many as 43,256 voters were supposed to cast votes.

Meanwhile, all the panels except Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) have boycotted the polls after raising allegations of polling irregularities. They also called a hartal on Tuesday (Mar 12).

Voting in the polling center installed at Rokeya Hall was postponed amid unrest triggered by attack on VP candidate Nurul Huq Nur and Kuwait Maitree Hall Provost Prof Dr Shabnam Jahan was withdrawn amid allegations that as many as 1,000 precast ballots were found in the hall.
