Ragging: BSMRSTU expels 6 EEE students for life The six students expelled for life

GOPALGANJ: Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science & Technology University (BSMRSTU) handed down lifetime expulsion for six of its students on charge of ragging two fellow students.

The varsity authority announced the judgment in an urgent meeting of its proctorial body, Monday (Feb 4) noon. 

The guilty students are—Shipon Ahmed, Shahin Mia, Hridoy Kumar Dhar, Turjo Howlader, Nadim Islam and Ashikuzzaman Khan Limon.

All of them were from (Electrical & Electronic Engineering) EEE department of the varsity in Gopalganj.

They ragged two first-year students of Agriculture department—Md Rajesh Hossain Shithil and Mahmudul Hasan, in a mess near the campus Saturday (Jan 2) night.

They also filmed the scene of humiliating the duo which later went viral on social media.

However, a 16-member protorial body headed by BSMRSTU Proctor and Associate Professor Ashikuzzman Bhuiyan also decided to file case against the expelled students under ICT Act.
