21 KU students get ARCHKU-Berger Award

DHAKA: A total of 21 students of the department of Architecture of Khulna University have received ARCHKU-Berger Award for their unique and brilliant performances.

Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited, in collaboration with the department of Architecture, Khulna University organized ARCHKU-Berger Award Program 2019 at Mukto Moncho on the campus on Sunday (Jan 20).

The awardees were selected from the academic years 2013-2014, 2014-2015, 2015-2016 and 2016-2017.

The winners have received crests, certificates and prize money as the recognition of their outstanding performance.

Professor Sadhan Ranjan Ghosh, Treasurer, Khulna University was the Chief Guest at the program while Mrs. Rupali Chowdhury, Managing Director, Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited was special guest.

The joint initiative of Berger Paints and Khulna University has created a prestigious competitive platform where the unique and brilliant performance of the Architecture students were highlighted and rewarded.

Berger has been proactively recognising the talents in Architecture discipline of the country for years.

The awardees of 2013-2014 session were: Sadia Afrin Tisha (1st year), Afrida Alma Oditi (2nd year), Redwan Kabir Kawshik (3rd year), Ontu Das (4th year), Apurbo Kumar Sen (4th year), Nazmun Akhter Pia (5th year)

The awardees of 2014-2015 session were: Shakil Ahmed Abir (1st year) Lifar Rahman Tithi (2nd year), Zulfiqar Ahmed (3rd year), Redwan Kabir Kawshik (4th year) and Mohammad Nazmul Huda (5th year)

The awardees of 2015-2016 session were: Sanjida Akhter Rumki (1st year), S. M.  Shakil Ahmed (1st year), Mohammad Ekramul Islam (2nd year), Mohammad Rafsan Jani (3rd year), Zulfiqar Ahmed (4th year) and Mohammad Saidur Rahman Bhuiyan (5th year)

The awardees of 2016-2017 session were: Fahmina Sharmin (1st year), Sanjida Akhter Rumki (2nd year), Mohammad Mizanur Rahman Parvez (3rd year) and Shakil Ahmed Abir (3rd year).

Rupali Chowdhury thanked the students to show their interest to participate in this program and congratulated the winners of this unique competition. 

Mohsin Habib Chowdhury, Senior General Manager, Sales & Marketing, Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited, Professor Dr. Uttam Kumar Majumdar, Dean, Science, Engineering & Technology; Professor Dr. Khan Mahfuz-ud-Darain, Head, Architecture Discipline; Mohammad Sharif Hasan Limon, Director, Students Affairs of Khulna University also spoke on the occasion.
