DHAKA: The probe body, formed by the Ministry of Education, had found that Aritri Adhikari committed suicide after being insulted by authorities of Viqarunnisa Noon School and College.

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid, while talking to reporters at his secretariat office, said the probe body has also found that the class-IX student could not bear the humiliation of her parents in front of her and it provoked her to commit suicide.

Earlier on Tuesday (December 5), the ministry of education a three-member probe body to investigate the alleged suicide of Aritri Adhikari asking it to submit report within three days.

The committee has finalised its report working over day and night, the minister said.

Nahid said as per the report, three teachers of Viqarunnisa Noon School and College-- acting Principal, morning shift In-Charge and class teacher -can not avoid their responsibilities for the suicide of Aritri.

“We are now reviewing the probe report and the people who were responsible for the incident have been identified”, the minister said.

The minister added that the probe body also identified various irregularities in the school, including admission process and coaching business.

The Education Ministry directed the management of Viqarunnisa Noon School and College to suspend its three teachers, including acting principal and it also cancelled MPO benefits of trio, over the suicide of a student.

Earlier on Monday (December 3) Aritri Adhikari, 16, student of Viqarunnisa’s Baily Road branch and daughter of Dilip Adhikari, has allegedly killed herself after the school authorities had humiliated her and her parents allegedly for copying answers from the mobile phone.
