DHAKA: Share price indices at the country's both bourses -- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) --witnessed upward trend in early hours of trading on Sunday (May 19).
The DSE benchmark index, DSEX went up by 86.16 points or 1.64percent to reach 5316.95 points at about 12:17 pm.
The two other indices also saw upward trend. The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) rose over 14.18 points or 1.18 percent to stand at 1211.74 points.
The DS30 index, comprising blue chips advanced 25.62 points or 1.40 percent to stand at 1843.82 points.
Turnover, the crucial indicator of the market, stands at Tk 2,334.30 million on the DSE, riding on Fortune Shoes and IFIC Bank.
Fortune Shoes Ltd dominated the turnover chart with shares worth Tk 125.68 million changing hands followed by IFIC Bank and SK Trims & Industries.
Of the issues traded till then, 268 gained, 36 declined and 34 remained unchanged.
The CSE key index, CSCX gained 235.86 points or 1.47 percent to stand at 16237.70, also at about 12:19 pm today.
Of the 188 issues traded till then, 143 gained, 29 declined and 16 remained unchanged with turnover worth of Tk 209.37 million.
