WB to extend aid further in future: FM Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal in a meeting withWB’s Country Director Bob Saum

DHAKA: Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal said World Bank's assistance for the development of the country including project loan will increase further.

The minister came up with the statement after emerging from a meeting with a delegation led by WB’s Country Director Bob Saum at the office of Economic Relations Division in city’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar on Sunday (March 31).

AHM Mustafa Kamal said, “The current World Bank’s team working in Dhaka understands the needs of Bangladesh. Therefore, WB's assistance will be extended for all development of Bangladesh in the future.”

AHM Mustafa Kamal said, “Now we’re having a good relation with World Bank, despite the fact that we went through a hard time with the organization some time back. However, we have overcome it”

AHM Mustafa Kamal said, “Bangladesh has occupied a place of reliance for foreign entrepreneurs especially with the recognition of developing country’s status and other factors of consideration for example country’s socioeconomic development, consistent GDP growth and investment situation.”

WB’s Country Director commended Bangladesh’s economic progress, empowerment and employment of women hoping that the friendly relations with Bangladesh will further strengthen in the coming days.
