DHAKA: The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has quizzed JMI Hospital Requisite Manufacturing Ltd chairman and Toma Construction and co Ltd coordinator over mask and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) corruption.
The two officials are JMI Hospital's chairman Abdur Razzak and Toma's coordinator Md Motiur Rahman.
A team of ACC led by its Director Mir Mohammad Joynul Abedin Shibly interrogated the two officials at the Commission's Headquarters in the capital's Segunbagich, said ACC public relation officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharjee.
The ACC earlier summoned th JMI Hospital Requisite Manufacturing Ltd’s Chairman Md Abdur Razzak, and Toma Construction and Co Ltd’s coordinator (medical team) Md Motiur Rahman to appear at the commission on July 8.
Earlier on July 1, the anti- graft body also summoned Elan Corporation Ltd’s Chairman Aminul Islam Amin, Meditech Imaging Ltd’s director Md Humayun Kabir and Dhaka Central International Medical College and Hospital’s Chairman also owner of Lexicon Merchandise and Technocrat Ltd Md Motazzerul Islam Mithu for interrogation.
Abdur Razzak, Motiur Rahman and Aminul Islam Amin were asked to appear before the ACC Headquarters on July 8 while Humayun Kabir and Motazzerul Islam Mithu on July 9.
The commission has formed a four-member probe committee to investigate allegations of corruption in the purchase of N-95 masks and PPE.
