Biman’s first Dreamliner ‘Akashbina’ to arrive Sunday Biman Bangladesh Airlines

DHAKA: National flag carrier Biman Bangladesh Airlines is set to receive first ever Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft into its fleet on Sunday (August 18).

With the arrival of the newest member, the number of aircraft in Biman squad will stand at 15.

Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, equipped with world’s latest technology, will arrive at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Sunday afternoon where it will be welcomed with Water Cannon Salute ceremony. 

Earlier on August 16, a team of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, led by its chairman of the board of directors Air Marshal (retd) Enamul Bari, went to Boeing Company's Everett Delivery and Operation Center in Seattle, Washington, US to bring the airplane. 

Biman will also receive three other Dreamliner aircrafts from Boeing in the coming days. Prime Minister Shiekh Hasina had named the aircrafts as Akashbina, Hongshobalaka, Gangchil and Rajhongsho.
