Biman captain elected executive VP of IFALPA

DHAKA: Captain Ishtiaque Hossain, a Commander of Boeing 777 in Biman Bangladesh Airlines has been elected as the Executive Vice President of IFALPA for Asia Pacific Region through the Direct Voting procedure at the 72nd Annual Conference of the World Pilots' Community, International Federation of Airline Pilots Association (IFALPA) held in Montreal, Canada on 06 May 2017. 

The Annual Conference was attended by 550 delegates throughout the world. This is for the first time in the history of Aviation in this sub-continent that an Airline Pilot gets elected in this highest post.

Montreal- Canada based International Federation of Airlines Pilots' Association (IFALPA)-the Global Voice of the Pilots’ works closely with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) a specialized agency of the United Nations Organization and International Labour Organization (ILO). 

Captain Ishtiaque Hossain also the First Bangladeshi who is a full member of ‘International Society of Air Safety Investigators (ISASI)’ a United States based sole organization specifically created for the air safety investigators and/or the aircraft accident prevention professionals of the world. He is one of the pioneer airline pilots of Bangladesh who has international accreditation as an Aircraft Accident Investigator (AAI).He was the Regional Vice-President Asia/West for consecutive 3 terms before he got elected for this new post of Executive Vice President.
