DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina directed the authorities concerned to form dog squad at all the airports of the country, vowing to strengthen security system.
She came up with the order while approving a project for developing security system at Bangladesh's international airports, at the meeting of Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) on Tuesday (June 18).
Planning Minister MA Mannan briefed reporters after the meeting.
Cost of the airport security development project was estimated at Tk 59.62 crore. The money will be spent for Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, Shah Amanat International Airport, Jashore Airport, Saidpur Airport and Civil Aviation Training Center (CATC).
However, the ECNEC meeting chaired by its Chairperson Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at NEC conference room in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar approved 11 development projects involving Tk 8,053 crore.
