DHAKA: In joint initiatives, Bangladesh and China have started working on Silk Road issue.
As part of the initiatives, Bangladesh-China Friends of Silk Road Club and The Silk Road Community Building Initiative-Bangladesh chapter have begun functioning.
These new initiatives were officially inaugurated at Hotel Sonargaon in the capital on Sunday (June 16).
Deputy Speaker Fazle Rabbi Miah of Bangladesh and vice chairman of the China National People's Congress (PRC) and President of Chinese Association for International Understanding (CAFIU) Ji Bingxuan officially inaugurated the two initiatives of the two countries.
Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Zhang Zuo, Chairman of Bangladesh-China Silk Road Forum Dilip Barua, Secretary General Shahiduzzaman Khan and other countries were present on the occasion.
Dilip Barua said Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman has initiated bilateral friendly relations with China which still continues.
Bangladesh will connect with China's Silk Road as per its sign. Bilateral friendship between two nations went one step further to fulfill that objective through today's arrangement.
Ji Bingxuan said, for the first time in 2013, China's President Xi Jinping proposed the modern Silk Road. Its aim is to increase business activities with neighboring neighbors of China, especially in West Asia.
As a result, everyone associated with Silk Road will benefit economically. China wants to move forward with help of its friendly fellow countries.
In addition, CFIU's Vice President presented the proposal on The Silk Road Community Building Initiative-Bangladesh chapter.
